Everything is not awesome: Snubs and surprises from the 2015 Oscar nominations

“David Oyelowo’s performance as Dr. Martin Luther King in Selma was overlooked this morning in the Best Actor category, marking the first time since 1999 that no people of color were nominated in any acting categories.” That’s a major statistic The Academy needs to think about as they continue year after year. All that progression of beautiful color from last year seems non-existend at a time our country needs it the most. I think what makes me the most upset is that I was expecting a white-out, but was still hoping for the best against it. So what are you really trying to say this year The Academy? We need answers.
